It's the middle of July and though most people in Washington, DC are on vacation. This is a great time to make a move forward in your career or personal life.
In life you get more than one opportunity at success. Those opportunities are given to you in small increments during the day and towards the end of the week -take advantage of them by being "ready." Being ready means identifying what value you bring and using time to refine those strengths (and deliver them to your many "customers"). In the workplace, take the time to consider how your specialty helps to save the company money or drive revenue. These days every organization is looking for ways to do each and there is always an opening for an employee who can do that.

Are you a failure?
People are not failures but according to the metrics we use socially and professionally, we sometimes fail at certain actions. Viewing these “failures” as opportunities to learn about ourselves is not a new concept, but purposefully seeking them out might be. The fastest way to discovering weaknesses in our skillsets is do something knowing you might fail but planning to learn from the experience. This is personal and professional development at its core.
Giving yourself an opportunity to fail will eventually give you the tools to succeed.
