Who we serve
Families holding three generations of decisions at once
Jason Howell Company works with families in the range between mass-affluent advice and the largest private banks — large enough to need governance, philanthropy, and a coordinated advisory bench, and rarely offered it.
Families after a liquidity event
A business sale changes the questions, not just the balance. The decisions that matter most — charitable timing, entity structure, proceeds allocation — are made in the months before the wire clears, not after. We work alongside deal counsel and your CPA through the whole arc.
02Families thinking across three generations
Most plans serve the person who signs the agreement. Families holding decisions for their children and their own parents at the same time need those decisions coordinated, because tax, titling, and timing in one generation change the answers in the others.
03Government contracting executives
Northern Virginia wealth is often concentrated in one privately held contracting business, with equity that is illiquid until it suddenly is not. Concentration planning, deferred compensation, and exit readiness matter more here than generic asset allocation.
04Adult children who will inherit
Assets transfer automatically. Judgment does not. We work directly with the next generation — on their own terms and often in their own meetings — so an inheritance arrives with the context and the skills to hold it rather than only a balance.
05Parents in their eighties and nineties
Older parents often hold real assets inside an advisory relationship set up forty years ago, with a portfolio that no longer fits their age. They will rarely raise it themselves. We can open that conversation gently and coordinate it with the rest of the family plan.
Most families are more than one of these at the same time. That is usually the point — a decision in one situation changes the answers in the others, which is the whole argument for handling them together.
